What is it?
Whoever fills up the form at the end of this document, I’ll try to arrange a 45 minutes slot with you via Google Hangouts (or Wechat call if you’re in China). Within this 45 minutes, we will discuss a predefined topic, or multiple topics. (But we have limited time. So prioritize your topics.)

How I may be helpful
Here is my LinkedIn profile for your reference. I don’t have all the answers to all the questions. But there are a few scenarios I guess I might be helpful.
- For student who are thinking about future, especially psychology background
- For graduate who are preparing resume
- For whom is considering to switch to user researcher, or roles interact with user researcher
- For job seeker who wants to practice English interview, especially to UXR role
- For UX experts who are interested in SEA, China market, work environment, work style and/or the differences in between

What do you need to do
Before the discussion — get yourself prepared
Accept the invitation 3 days in advance, or I may cancel it. Prepare your self introduction. Let me know who you are so I can help the most. Set up your goal to the discussion. Think about what do you expect from the discussion.
During the slot — be present & on time
Be on time. You can be richer than me. But your time isn’t more valuable than mine. Everyone has limited time for life. Please respect each other. If you need to reschedule the slot, please let me know at least 1 hour before.
No disruption. 45 minutes isn’t a long period. Please make sure we won’t be interrupted by things like notification, mail, phone call etc.
My expectation to you
Provide Feedback to me. Feedback loop is important because it helps to improve. I’ll send out a form after the discussion. Let me know how I was doing by filling up the form.
Follow up. After the discussion you should be able to connect me in the future. If you are willing to share, don’t hesitate to let me know how are you doing afterwards. Or you can do the same thing to others. I’ll be happy to see that happen as well.
When will be the slot
Time slots will be Tuesday or Thursday night of the week + one of the days in weekend.
The reason is that I want to do more than one in a week. Monday and Friday is more possible to have some activities after work. Hence Tue and Thu seem to be the better time. And some people are free only on weekend. That’s why!
Why am I doing this
The top reason is that I wish there’s someone offering me this chance at some points, like when I started looking for jobs, when I thought of switching jobs, or in my earlier career.
Besides, China is a very special area where I am not able to access some information freely. I’d like to keep talking to people. It’s a mutual way interaction. I wish I can help in some ways. I want to hear and learn from you as well.
The last but not the least, I still remember that there were a few headhunters reaching out to me with opportunities that sound promising. But I couldn’t think of anyone to refer. I’d like to hear more from you. And able to connect the right person when the time comes.
Things you have to know
Slot schedule - I’ll try my best to arrange each of the slot. However, I’m doing this as a side project. There might be times I have to go for a Biz trip or the internet is just not working well. Remember, I’m in China. Lots of things are different from rest of the world.
Topic - I’m a researcher. Which means I help the team to figure out things that not well known yet. We won’t talk the project details I did for my current and previous company. Cause the product/service of the project I worked or I’m working on may not launch yet or may have switched to another direction. And I shouldn’t talk about them.
Share the learning - I won’t share any of your identities without your agreement. However, there may be cases that after talking to a few people, I find it can be helpful if I write it down and share with broader audiences. I wish you can be comfortable to share anything with me. But if any of the topics that you do not want me to share with others, please do mention in our conversation.
What if there are too many people reaching out?
